Justin is working on establishing his own ministry to serve formerly incarecerated individuals reenter into society. It’s called “Thinkin’ Outta the Box Reentry.” He is a terrific young man.

What’s your favorite Bible Verse? Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

At which facility do you serve? Youth Detention Center, Central Booking.

Why did you decide to volunteer inside the jails? To help out the people that are around me and in my community, to give back to my people.

Is there a girl or boy you have connected with? My man, Drayton.

What skills do you have that make you successful in your service? I speak the language of the boys. I understand where they come from and the mindset of the urban community.

What will change the climate of youth violence in Baltimore? The violence is derived from the lack of economic opportunity. People are struggling in the city; they are hungry, trying to do what they see as their only option to get money.
