Weak, Weary & Disappointed

At unCUFFED we are in touch with our own brokenness, knowing that "He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power."

Have you heard Chris Rice’s version of come to Jesus? It’s HERE. I’ve listened to it several times today as I have been dealing with disappointment.

unCUFFED builds relationships with people in the midst of tribulation. When our backs are against the wall and it seems that everyone is against us, there are two options:

  1. We can fall on our knees and give ourselves up to Him totally; accepting responsibility for our failings and having faith in Him alone to rescue us.
  2. We can continue to rely on our own wits and our old ways of lying, manipulation, and deception.

We see so many terrific kids inside that have fallen, been broken and opened their hearts to Jesus but at the same time we see some that have not yet hit that bottom and continue to rely on themselves. Honestly, it is often difficult to discern who is who. We have a plethora of anecdotes of kids who have changed paths, that are home working, worshiping, and succeeding but at the same time the dirty secret is that we also deal with vast disappointment in those who exemplify Proverbs 26:11, “like a dog that returns to its vomit. is a fool who repeats his folly.

We must learn not to put our faith in others and in their decisions but to walk in the truth of Psalm 62:

My soul waits in silence for God only;
From Him is my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Our worldly hearts desire success as we define it, that those we serve will succeed in the short term and prove our work valid. In God’s view, we may only be planters or those who water; and actually we may not even be that good at the work but God provides and equips. At unCUFFED we are in touch with our own brokenness, knowing that “He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.”
